Quarter Beef Share

A Quarter Beef Share is the perfect entry point for individuals or small families looking to upgrade their food quality while saving money. This option allows you to enjoy the same premium, custom-finished beef as our larger shares, but in a size that fits comfortably in a standard kitchen freezer.

The Cost: $8/lb Hanging Weight

We maintain a flat price of $8/lb hanging weight across all our shares. Even at the quarter level, you are receiving an incredible deal by paying the same price for T-Bones and Ribeyes as you do for Ground Beef.

Why it saves you money:

Buying a quarter share locks in your price for the year. While grocery store prices fluctuate and spike, your cost remains the same for every cut, ensuring you have a freezer full of high-grade protein at a wholesale rate.

What’s in a Quarter Beef? (Example Breakdown)

Even with a quarter share, you receive a diverse "mixed quarter" that includes cuts from both the front and hindquarters. Here is a typical yield:

Premium Steaks (~25–30 lbs)

  • Ribeye: 6–7 lbs

  • T-Bone & Porterhouse: 5–6 lbs

  • Sirloin: 4–5 lbs

  • Filet Mignon: 1–2 lbs

  • Minute/Round Steaks: 4–6 lbs

Roasts & Slow-Cooking (~35–40 lbs)

  • Chuck Roast: 10–12 lbs

  • Rolled Rump Roast: 6–7 lbs

  • Brisket: 3–4 lbs

  • Short Ribs: 4–5 lbs

  • Stew Meat: 5–6 lbs

Ground Beef (~45–50 lbs)

  • Professionally packaged in vacuum-sealed bricks.

The "Whole Animal" Advantage

When you buy a share for slaughter, you own that portion of the animal. You are welcome to your share of the "extras" for no additional charge. Simply request them when you order:

  • Bones: Your share of soup and marrow bones.

  • Organs: A quarter share of the liver, heart, or tongue.

  • Extras: You can even request your portion of the hide or tallow.

Storage Requirements

A Quarter Beef Share yields approximately 125 lbs of take-home meat. This will typically fit into a standard refrigerator freezer if it is mostly empty, though it occupies about 4–5 cubic feet. It is an ideal amount of meat for those who want the quality of farm-fresh beef without purchasing a standalone deep freezer.

Small Share, Big Flavor. Our Quarter Share is the smartest way to stop buying mystery meat at the store and start eating better, local beef.
