Half Beef Share

Purchasing a Half Beef Share is our most popular option for families who want the financial benefits of buying bulk without needing the storage space of a full animal. You still get the "farm-to-table" experience with custom finishing and a massive variety of premium cuts at a wholesale price.

The Cost: $8/lb Hanging Weight

Just like our whole shares, a half share is billed by the hanging weight. This is the fairest way to price the animal because you are buying exactly 50% of everything—from the premium steaks to the nutrient-dense bones and organs.

Why it saves you money:

By paying a flat $8/lb hanging weight, you are getting high-end cuts like Filet Mignon and Ribeyes for the same price as your Ground Beef. In a retail store, these premium steaks often cost $20–$30/lb; here, they are included in your flat rate.

What’s in a Half Beef? (Example Breakdown)

While you get to choose your Custom Butchering (steak thickness, roast size, etc.), here is a typical yield for a Half Share.

Premium Steaks (~50–60 lbs)

  • Ribeye: 12–14 lbs

  • T-Bone & Porterhouse: 10–12 lbs

  • Sirloin: 8–10 lbs

  • Filet Mignon: 3–4 lbs

  • Flank/Skirt Steak: 2–4 lbs

Roasts & Slow-Cooking (~70–80 lbs)

  • Chuck Roast: 20–25 lbs

  • Rolled Rump Roast: 12–15 lbs

  • Brisket: 6–8 lbs

  • Short Ribs: 8–10 lbs

  • Stew Meat: 10–12 lbs

Ground Beef (~90–100 lbs)

  • Packed in your choice of 1 lb, 1.5 lb, or 2 lb vacuum-sealed bricks.

The "Whole Animal" Advantage

Because you are buying half of the actual animal for slaughter, you have the right to half of the extras at no additional cost. If you want them, just let us know when ordering:

  • Bones: Soup, marrow, and knuckle bones (perfect for broth).

  • Organs: Half of the liver, heart, and tongue.

  • Extras: You can even request your share of the hide or tallow.

Storage Requirements

A Half Beef Share typically yields about 250 lbs of take-home meat. To store this safely, you will need approximately 8–10 cubic feet of freezer space. We recommend having your freezer space ready and chilled prior to your scheduled pickup or delivery date.

Get the best of the beast. A Half Share gives you every single cut available on the animal, custom-finished and custom-butchered for your family’s needs.
